Meet ‘The Cube’ — quantifying the benefits of going electric

This comprehensive energy modeling quantifies the benefits of going electric for every home in America.

Whether it's convincing households to electrify or arming decision-makers with the information they need to advocate for electrification, Rewiring America’s suite of data models — called The Cube — powers the electrification movement.

How do we do that? The Cube — a simple name for a complex set of data, machine learning models, and analyses — assembles a comprehensive view of what it will take to electrify each of the 129 million households in the U.S. It offers a home-by-home calculation of everything from upfront costs, and projected bill reductions, to improved health outcomes in communities, and nationwide effects on emissions and the grid.

We know that a task as large as electrifying every home in America requires a personalized approach. The diversity of climates, range of housing sizes and types, different sources of energy, varying access to trained contractors, and fluctuating costs means it will take a highly flexible model capable of producing estimates customized to each household and community.

With The Cube, we have developed the unique ability to calculate projected savings and benefits customized to a specific home.

We plan to share the power of The Cube so that the entire ecosystem can benefit from our work — stay tuned as we begin the journey of creating APIs so that you can access The Cube too.
