Rewiring Communities
Helping governments, organizations, and households electrify locally.
Every neighborhood, every home
To power community electrification, we’re making our data models, household tools, educational programs, financing, and partnerships available to localities across the country. Our mission is straightforward and demanding: help millions of households identify savings, understand costs and benefits, and make the switch to electric, block-by-block. And with historic support from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, we’re making residential electrification more equitable and affordable for all.
How we work
As this electric movement continues to grow, so will our offerings for communities nationwide. Here’s how we’re helping communities make the switch.
Community engagement and activation
Providing free online tools to community-based organizations that help households understand the benefits of electrification, estimate savings, identify incentives, and complete electric home upgrades.
Giving local government leaders the research, support, and connections they need to advocate for electrification and secure policy victories.
Community implementation
Coordinating electrification projects in communities and households that stand to benefit the most from making the switch right now.
Partnering with manufacturers, utilities, and contractors in select Rewiring Communities to help households affordably and conveniently go electric.
